Bamboo Exquisite Tower Moment
A small Victorian rural town’s iconic silo and bamboo structure and performance at this year's arts festival, The Nati Frinj Biennale, 2022.

“Forest 2” acknowledges the very first Y-Space and Bambuco collaboration in 1999. Drawn to the work of Bambuco, Y-Space’s Jillian Pearce invited director Simon Barley to collaborate on a bamboo structure and performance. The result was Forest which toured to four different festival events but never to Nati Frinj. Forest was the start of a great artistic partnership between Y-Space, Bambuco and the Natimuk community that lasted until Simon’s death in 2007. The design of Forest 2 design is informed by Y Space/Bambuco collaborator Erik Pootjes and his interest in the Fibonacci sequence.
